Throwback to our Launch Event!

24th November 2015

As we approach the end of 2015, here at SafeSpot HQ we find ourselves reflecting on the last year and everything that SafeSpot has achieved… we have been able to successfully acquire social enterprise funding to launch the app both on  the apple and android stores, and thousands of young people have now downloaded the app! They stretch as near as Glasgow and Inverclyde, all the way to China, Australia and across Europe! This unexpected global audience have particularly used the audio tools and safety planning aspects of the app, and this just shows how dynamic young people are in the way they engage with technology!

One of our biggest achievements has been our fantastic launch event in St Stephens High School, Port Glasgow, in March 2015. The event which was attended by half the school’s students, showcased the bright and inspirational young people who were the first ever to use the app. They provided vital initial feedback that has helped to shape the changes which we have made so far to the app already.. Not only this, but the students of St Stephen’s helped the SafeSpot team to think about the next steps in developing the SafeSpot curriculum and SafeSpotter programme. Indeed our very first SafeSpot Ambassadors are currently working hard at their first year within their new role, and we will be bringing exciting news about their work to the blog very soon…

So as we #tbt our wonderful launch event, why not remind yourself of the day by catching up on our appearance in the national STV news article which featured on primetime news across Scotland….
